Well folks, Apple finally has begun sending out invites to developers for an iPad event scheduled for March 7 in Cupertino, CA. Without a doubt, this will be the event in which the new iPad will be announced.
In the past few weeks, the rumors about the “iPad 3” have been overflowing. It’s now known that the new iPad is said to have a thicker back shell compared to the iPad 2, approximately 0.8 mm thicker according to a new photo claims Apple.pro. Other rumors include the iPad 3 having a “retina” display, higher resolution cameras on the front and back, and possibly the inclusion of Siri, Apple’s voice assistant.
The Chinese site, Sina Weibo, also reports what appears to be a sheet comparing the price levels of the iPad 2 to the iPad 3. If this sheet is truthful, the new iPad could see a price hike of nearly $80 on top of the iPad 2 pricing
As we all anxiously wait for the announcement a week from today, we can be assured that this new iPad will be bigger and better than the current iPad and cause Apple fans across the world to stand in line for hours to see and touch this new Apple gem. I’m not 100% sure I will be one of those people, but I’ve been sticking with my iPad 1 since winter 2010 and might consider getting the new iPad since mine seems to lag compared to the iPad 2 already and sure to be slow compared to this new iPad 3. The deciding factor for me will be whether or not if the new device has a hiked price compared to the usual iPad price levels.
